Arsenal Chairman responds to Lady Nina's tweets

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has hit back in his war of words with former board member Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith.

Eyebrows were raised at the Emirates when Lady Bracewell-Smith launched a withered tirade in the direction of a board she labelled 'chauvinistic' and 'insecure'.

In what was a stinging appraisal of the club's hierarchy she called for sweeping changes under new owner American tycoon Stan Kroenke, whom she sold a 15.9 per cent stake to back in 2009 to end a family association with Arsenal that stretches back to the 1940s.

Hill-Wood was not amused and has issued a brusque summary of his own when summing up his thoughts on Lady Bracewell-Smith.
"I wouldn't pay any attention to it myself," Hill-Wood told the Daily Star. "I don't know why she is suddenly sounding off.
"She put something like £100million in her pocket and didn't earn a penny of it.
"She should keep herself quiet and not complain."
It was on Monday, via Twitter, that Lady Bracewell-Smith made her grievances public, calling for the heads of the existing boardroom members that reside in North London.
"I agree that the current board should all go," she said.
"They are passe. Have nothing to give to the club at all.
"They couldn't handle a woman with power on the board. Felt insecure. Male chauvinism."
